My Dad, the Secret Superhero
As fires burned across the country, the children’s book, ‘My Dad, the Secret Superhero’ was created in support of Australia’s secret superheroes – our Firies.
In late January the book was sold through a crowdfunding campaign which would fund the production of the book and raise money to help wildlife in need and the rehabilitation of the environment. Throughout the campaign period, ‘My Dad, the Secret Superhero’ proudly partnered with the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife (FNPW), a non-government organisation on a mission to protect Australia’s ecosystems and native species. 100% of profits from the campaign period are to be donated to FNPW to assist with bushfire relief efforts.

Our Book
A series of massive, deadly bushfires. A smoke-covered country in crisis. And a team of secret superheroes to save them all!
The story is centred around Delilah, a clever, little girl who believes she has uncovered her Dad’s biggest secret. He isn’t just a farmer, he is a courageous superhero protecting Australia from the fire monsters. The story follows the adventures of Delilah's Dad a volunteer firefighter, highlighting the heroic acts performed by our firefighters during bushfire season.
'My Dad, the Secret Superhero' aims to celebrate our wonderful Firies whilst helping children understand the sacrifice and effort many families are faced with during these difficult times.

Hello, it's Seb and Carly here and we are so pleased to be launching our book 'My Dad, the Secret Superhero'. Inspiration for this book came from our own personal experience of bushfires near our family farm in Tambellup in country Western Australia.
In late December, two fires started near the Stirling Ranges national park, 15kms from our property. Without hesitation, Dad, Seb, friends and neighbours rushed to control the fire, protecting wildlife, habitat, farmlands and homes. Fortunately, after 5 days the fires were contained, with no one being harmed and minimal damage to property.
Seeing everyone’s selfless response to these fires inspired us to find a way to donate our time and skillset to the cause. So, together we have written and illustrated a children’s book with the aim to fundraise money for those affected by fire, and to shine a light on the secret superheroes who put their lives on the line to defend our country every day.
